Université Côte d'Azur
About the study place
The Université Côte d'Azur has roots dating back to 1965 and in 2020 they became an experimental university. This means that they, among other things, break down the barriers between education, research and innovation. They offer a number of educations in several fields and have a good overview on their website. The university has campuses in both Cannes and Nice.
Cannes, with its 73,000 inhabitants, is known for its international film festival which draws many visitors each year. Historically, Cannes was a small fishing village, but in the 19th century, it was discovered by the British aristocrat Lord Brougham, who made it a popular resort for the rich and famous. This history can be seen in the many beautiful villas and hotels that adorn the city.
One of the most famous landmarks is the Palais des Festivals, the building where the film festival is held. La Croisette is another famous attraction, a boulevard along the shoreline known for its designer shops and luxury hotels. Here you can stroll among palm trees and enjoy the stunning view of the Mediterranean. Le Suquet, the old town, is also worth a visit. Here you can wander through charming narrow streets and experience a fantastic view of the city from the church of Notre-Dame de l'Espérance.
The Îles de Lérins archipelago, located just off the coast, is also a popular attraction. The islands are known for their historic monasteries and the natural landscape.
Nice is a city with sunny weather and beautiful coastal scenery. Here you can walk through charming cobblestone streets and visit the beautiful promenade, Promenade des Anglais, where you will have a wonderful view over the Mediterranean. Every year they arrange the famous carnival in Nice along the promenade. There is always something to do in this enchanting town and you should visit the old town, the beautiful park Parc de la Colline du Château, the amazing building Monastère Notre-Dame-de-Cimiez and the Cathedral Orthodox Russe Saint-Nicolas. This is some of the many thing the city has to offer, and you should definitely try out the French cuisine, visit small niche shops and enjoy your study time in this stunning city.
The university has been recognized for its research and is among the best in France. They are concerned with being creative and open-minded and want you as a student to achieve a unique competence. They therefore use new educational technology and have small classes so that students can get the best possible benefit from their study time.
