About the study place

Albert-Ludwigs-Universität is located in the city of Freiburg in the state Baden-Württemberg. The university was founded in the 1400s and has a long tradition within the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and technologies. The university has an excellent academic reputation both nationally and internationally.  

Freiburg is the fourth largest city in Baden-Württemberg and is located in southwestern Germany. The city is surrounded by scenic nature with easy access to the Black Forest, a forested mountain range. The area is known for having a relatively warm and sunny climate and has become a hub for regional tourism. In the center of the city, you will find a historic old town as well as a number of museums. Restaurants, bars and the local brewery help ensure a lively student nightlife.  

As a student at the Albert Ludwig University, you will study where many known philosophers, researchers and Nobel laureates have taught. The university prioritizes internationalization and strives to use learning methods that are tailored to specific requirements.
