About the study place

Hochschule Wismar is a university of applied sciences with a focus on technology, economics and design. The school offers over 50 different degree programmes distributed throughout three faculties. These are the Faculty of Engineering, Wismar Business School, and Faculty of Architecture and Design.

Wismar, with its 40,000 inhabitants, is located in the northeastern part of Germany right next to the Baltic Sea. Hochschule Wismar’s campus is located just 500 metres from the Bay of Wismar. Hamburg is about an hour and a half car ride away. The city has a rich history which is reflected in its architecture. Here you will find buildings associated with the Hanseatic League as well as buildings from the period the city was under Swedish control during the 1600 to 1700s. Wismar has a strong infrastructure as well as a number of cafes, cinemas and student pubs. Its location by the sea contributes to a maritime atmosphere and plenty of opportunities for participation in water sports.

While the school has a scientific focus, it is also paired with a humanistic approach. The working methods of the school is characterized by friendliness, cosmopolitanism and mutual consideration. As a student here you will attend a school that teaches based on leading international standards.

In order to have 30 ECTS credits approved at OsloMet after the exchange, you must take 30 ECTS credits at this institution.
