You can apply for an exchange period abroad by 1 September for the spring semester/1 February for the autumn semester. Please check "When can I go" to see when you can travel abroad.
How do I apply?
What can I study at Berner Fachhochschule?
You follow OsloMet's clinical course Nursing Persons with Mental Health Problems and have your internship via BFH. You receive supervision from OsloMet (online) and locally. Credits are issued by OsloMet.
You must also begin work on your bachelor's thesis, which you will continue to work on after you return home. You deliver this at the standard time at the end of the spring semester and it is therefore very important that you are prepared to work on this also while you are in Switzerland.
Note the language requirement. You must have a language level in German equivalent to approx. B2 to be able to travel here.
Language requirements
Students exchanging in a clinical placement needs to be at a level of approximately B2 in German.
If you are planning to take courses taught in English, there are no specific language demands.
When can I travel and how long can I study?
You can go here in your 6th semester. You go for a period of three months, from January to March.
Do I have to pay tuition fees?
No. We have some places without tuition fee available through the Swiss European Mobility programme. If you go an exchange here, you will also get a SEMP grant from the Swiss institution.
Although you will not have to pay tuition fees, please be aware that other expenses can occur.
